Works during March 2017
During March, our piling contractor mobilised two of their piling rigs to site. Both piling rigs have completed piling the North and East elevations of the basement wall, with the rigs currently working on the Nile Street elevation. Construction of the guide wall for the basement piled wall has been completed. The remaining school buildings that were on the site adjacent to Jasper Walk have been demolished, clearing the remainder of the route for the site’s east vehicle access road construction to be completed.
During April the site will take delivery of its final piling rig. This piling rig will be used to construct the piled foundations for the tower. With the basement wall piling drawing to a close, one of the piling rigs undertaking this piling will be removed from the site. Once all of the basement wall piling is finished, the remaining piling rig will begin construction of the new school’s foundation piles. Our Reinforced Concrete Frame contractor will mobilise to site, and begin construction the basement wall’s capping beam that it is formed over the top of the secant piles.
Planned works for April
